Love Shack - The Rustic Disco

"The Love Shack is a little old place where we can get together," screams the song again and again... Roger Knight's Rustic Disco is just that.

We've all been to those weddings where the DJ is doing his hardest to play the songs that will get baby Emma, Granny Jane and everyone in between on the dance floor yet the seats dotted around the room have never been so warm...
It's not always the 'greatest hits' that will win a wedding crowd over. There are THREE major factors that make a great DJ and help him/her win your wedding guests over.

Experience: Roger has been in the wedding industry for many years. Why would you not want someone with experience in all music, not to mention the technology of the DJ set up? There is no substitute for being a great people person and Roger is just that. He has DJ'd to wedding crowds of all kinds over the years and he is trusted and remembered for putting on a great time.

Style: 2 CD players, 2 speakers and flashy lights will do a job, to a degree... of course. The Rustic Disco, though, is literally one of a kind. There's not another like it, in the south west at least. Built out of authentic pallets and panels and erected across a frame to fit the venue, the 'Love Shack suddenly looks so much more than a DJ set up. It's stylish and right now, it's very chic. Shabby chic in fact. It's rustic, retro, vintage and all of the other words you type into Google when looking for your wedding designs... ;)

"I think we really are changing wedding discos forever. Well, at least the way they look." Roger Knight

It's a classy and amazingly well thought out set up. It doesn't look OTT and it detracts completely from the idea of having a classic style disco and DJ at your wedding reception. Throw in decorations of letters spelling 'LOVE', a TV with YOUR photos on a slideshow throughout the night and many more custom requirements reflecting your wedding and you have the perfect entertainment that will get every hip shaking and foot kicking. Oh and you still get your flashy lights...

Confidence: Last but not least, you need someone to know what to play and when to play it. Someone who will take requests, someone who can give you total control with your choices of music throughout the night and someone who is so friendly, confident and that word again... experienced. As mentioned earlier in the post, Roger has been in the wedding business for a long time and along with his hugely popular toastmaster service (more on that another day) he'll ensure you get everything you want for your wedding reception.

As the writer of this blog, I have been to a few weddings in Somerset where Roger has been there with the Rustic Disco and it's just awesome. There are no 'warm seats', just people dancing, laughing and making memories. Take a look at some of the pictures below and consider inviting the Love Shack Rustic Disco into your plans for your special day.

First blog!

Thank you for checking the blog here at Your Wedding Room. This is a post with content from our 'All You Need To Know' page to give the posts here a good start. We shall be blogging about various suppliers that we work with as well as articles from outside the YWR community which we think will make good reading for anyone in the wedding industry or if you're a bride or groom looking for reference and information.

"There are many websites and directories out there full to the brim of suppliers vying for your attention. It's an exciting time! Here at Your Wedding Room, we aim to make your planning process as relaxed and as fun as possible. So you may have seen what we have to offer; but where can you find us?

We have a showroom at Stonecroft Farm in Tintinhull, Somerset. (*BA22 8PR for your satnavs)
On display, we have mini exhibitions from many of our suppliers. You'll see table decorations, flower arrangements, photographer's work framed on the wall, a chocolate fountain and much more. We have a comfy sofa where you can browse through magazines or talk to us about your day and what it is you are looking for. Drinks are also provided.

You are most welcome to contact us at the showroom and arrange to meet Roger or one of the team there. Likewise, you can browse our list of suppliers here on the website and make contact with them separately and arrange to meet them at Your Wedding Room or wherever is more convenient for you. It's worth noting that although primarily based in Somerset, most of the professionals here at YWR travel further afield including Devon, Dorset & Wiltshire. Some travel further and we even have a photographer that shoots weddings all over the world."

We look forward to engaging with you here and you can also find us on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter.
